A Hilltop Suburb on Geelong’s Edge

Bell Post Hill is a residential suburb in the City of Greater Geelong, postcode 3215. It sits north-west of central Geelong, with Ballarat Road (the Midland Highway) along its southern side. The suburb had 5,083 people at the 2021 census.

The built-up part of the suburb stops at the Geelong Ring Road on the west. Past that, the land opens up into sports grounds and open country.

How the Hill Got Its Name

The name is thought to come from a lookout post with a warning bell that once stood on the hill. From the top, you can see across the countryside and out to Corio Bay.

Because the suburb sits on a rise, some streets and driveways slope. Tell us if your driveway is steep, and we’ll plan the safest way to load.

Old Homestead and Busy School Zones

The Morongo homestead, a two-storey stone building from 1859, stands on Ballarat Road. Today it’s part of Kardinia International College. Covenant College and Rollins Primary School are also in the suburb.

That means school drop-off and pick-up times can be busy. We try to plan your move outside these hours, so the truck isn’t stuck in traffic.

Fast Routes In and Out

Bell Post Hill is close to the Geelong Ring Road. That makes it easy to move to other parts of Geelong, the Surf Coast or Melbourne.

Tell us where you’re going, and we’ll plan the quickest route. A shorter drive often means a shorter, cheaper job.

Weekend Sport at Myers Reserve

Myers Reserve is home to local soccer, and the suburb also has a footy club, tennis courts and a bowls club. On game days, nearby streets can fill with parked cars.

If you’re moving on a weekend, let us know your street. We’ll plan where the truck can park, so loading goes smoothly.

Shops and Services Close By

Bell Post Hill has two small shopping areas and a reserve with a library. For bigger shopping, central Geelong is a short drive away. If you’d rather not shop for boxes, we can bring packing materials and pack for you.

Common Problems We See During Bell Post Hill Moves

Most of these are easy to fix with a short message before moving day.

Bell Post Hill Booked as Bell Park

The two suburbs sit side by side and share postcode 3215. Give us your full street address, so the crew goes to the right home.

A Sloping Driveway

Some homes on the hill have steep driveways. Send us a photo, and we’ll plan the safest way to load.

School Traffic at the Wrong Time

Three schools mean busy mornings and afternoons. Pick a start time outside school hours, and the move runs faster.

Beds That Need Taking Apart

Large bed frames can be hard to fit through doors and halls. Tell us how many beds you have, and we’ll bring the right tools.

A Small Move Booked as a Big One

If you’re only moving a few items, you may not need a big truck. Ask about a smaller truck or a quick small move.

We charge by the hour for a truck and two movers: $120 for 3 tonne, $130 for 4.5 tonne, $170 for 8 tonne and $190 for 10 tonne. Rates are the same on weekends.
