If you're searching for removalists Agnes reviews, you can read ours before you book. Moving house in Agnes is a rural job, so we plan it that way. Here's how.

A small locality on the South Gippsland Highway

Agnes is a small locality in the South Gippsland Shire, with 61 people at the 2021 census. It sits at the junction of the South Gippsland Highway and Barry Road, close to Corner Inlet. The old railway station closed in 1981, so there's no local rail, shopping strip or depot nearby.

Toora is about 6 km west and Welshpool about 4 km east, with Foster, Port Welshpool and Leongatha a short drive further. Those towns are where you'd find shops and services. If you need packing supplies or boxes for the move, it helps to get them before the crew arrives, or ask us to supply them.

Rural jobs need more planning and a clear quote

A rural move takes more thought than a city one, because the property decides how the day runs. We ask about your driveway, your gates and the last stretch of road before we quote, and we plan the timing around them. For jobs in Agnes, a call-out charge applies. It varies by suburb, and it's included in your fixed written quote before you book.

Tell us your preferred date and both addresses and we'll confirm the schedule with you. An early start usually gives a rural job enough daylight to finish properly.

Farm gates, long driveways and rural access

Most properties around Agnes are rural, with long driveways, farm gates and sometimes unsealed tracks. A removal truck is long and heavy, so the last stretch matters more than the highway.

We ask about the driveway, the gate width, the surface and any low branches. If a big truck won't fit, we can use a smaller one, or plan a longer carry from the nearest safe stopping point. Photos or a short video of the way in make this quick to settle.

Coastal weather near Corner Inlet

Agnes is close to Corner Inlet and the hills of the Strzelecki Ranges, so weather can change quickly. Heavy rain can soften an unsealed driveway, and strong winds make loading harder. If the forecast looks bad, we'll talk to you a few days before about a backup date.

Moves in and out of the area

People moving out of Agnes often head to larger centres like Leongatha or Traralgon. People moving in are often looking for a quieter place. If your new home isn't ready, we offer storage, and we supply materials for packing and unpacking.

Common Problems We See During Agnes Moves

Most of these come from planning a rural job like a city one.

The schedule wasn't thought through. Rural jobs need more time at each end. Tell us your date, and we'll plan the timing so the job isn't rushed at the end of the day.

The truck doesn't suit the last stretch. A farm track, a narrow gate or a soft driveway can stop a long truck. Send photos before we quote, and we'll choose a truck that fits.

A quote that left out the call-out charge. Some quotes add it later. Ours varies by suburb and is shown in your fixed written quote before you commit.

Things we don't move. We move household belongings. Farm machinery, livestock and equipment aren't part of our service, so please arrange those separately.

Weather that changes the plan. Rain on an unsealed driveway or strong coastal wind can delay loading. Book with a backup date in mind.

Agnes Moving Checklist: Questions to Answer Before You Call

Have these answers ready, and your quote will be quicker and more accurate.

• Where are the two addresses, and what's the road like at each end?
• What's the last stretch to the property: sealed, gravel or farm track, and how wide is the gate?
• What's moving, including the shed, the garage and anything outdoors?
• Are there any heavy or awkward items, such as a piano, pool table or large wardrobe?
• Which date do you prefer, and is there a backup date if the weather turns?
• Will anyone be at the property, and what's a phone number we can use on the road?
• Do you need packing or storage, since nothing is close by?

Send us the answers and a few photos, and we'll turn them into a written quote.

Removalist Prices in Agnes

We charge by the hour for the truck and two movers: $130 an hour for a 3 tonne truck, $140 for a 4.5 tonne, $180 for an 8 tonne and $200 for a 10 tonne. For a rural job like Agnes, a call-out charge applies as well. It varies by suburb, and we put it in your fixed written quote, so you see one final number before you commit. There are no hidden fees and no extra charges.

What should a rural quote include? It should include the hourly rate, the call-out charge, the expected time and any packing or storage you've asked for. If a quote leaves one of these out, ask for it in writing.

If you're comparing removalists Agnes prices, or looking at budget movers Agnes has access to, compare the final totals, not just the hourly rates. For affordable movers Agnes locals can rely on, the best sign is a quote that shows everything before you commit. When you look at moving costs Agnes residents are quoted, and moving quotes Agnes companies send, the question to ask is what's included. The same goes for finding the best removals Agnes has: a written final total and reviews you can read tell you more than any slogan.

Moving Services in Agnes

We provide door to door moving services: we load at your property, unload at the new one and handle packing and storage in between. As a household mover, we can help with:

• House removalists: farmhouses, cottages and family homes, with the right truck for the road
• Furniture removalists: sofas, beds, wardrobes and dining sets, with disassembly and reassembly
• Single item removalists: one fridge, one lounge or one cabinet
• Piano and pool table removalists for heavy pieces
• Packing and unpacking and storage

On the day, our crew wraps furniture in blankets and shrink wrap and straps it on the truck, which matters on a longer highway trip. You can also see all the areas we service.
