Removalists Arawata

Hill Country Moves, Done Properly by Expert Movers

Expert Movers is a removalist company that runs its own trucks and employs its own movers. We don't use labour hire or subcontracted crews. Over the past 10+ years we've completed more than 5,000 moves across Australia, and our customers rate us 4.9 stars on average. When you call, there's no call centre. The person who prices your move is the one who shows up to do it.

Arawata is a quiet farming district. At the 2021 census it had 92 residents and 33 homes, spread over about 22.5 km². With so few neighbours, most moves here are to or from the bigger towns nearby, especially Leongatha and Korumburra.

What Should You Know About Arawata Before Moving?

Arawata is a rural locality in the South Gippsland Shire, about 10 km north-west of Leongatha. It sits in the Strzelecki Ranges, part of the dairy and beef country of [South Gippsland](LINK: Gippsland region page). The land ranges from rolling to steep, with wide views over the hills.

The heart of the district is on Fairbank Road. The Arawata Public Hall stands at number 401, next to the Arawata Union Church. Just along the road is the site of the former Arawata State School No. 2970.

Useful facts for planning your move:

• Every home is a separate house. Most have three bedrooms, so a typical household fits a medium-sized truck.
• Postcode 3951 covers seven places. Outtrim, Kongwak, Kardella, Jumbunna, Ranceby and Fairbank share it with Arawata. Give us your full road number, and a landmark too if your place is hard to find.
• Hills slow trucks down. On winding country roads, a heavy truck travels slower than a car. We plan around this so your day doesn't run late.

Moving From the Hills Into Leongatha or Korumburra

Leongatha and Korumburra are the closest large towns. If you're leaving a farmhouse for a smaller home in either one, here's what helps.

Decide what fits before we load. A farmhouse lounge suite or big timber wardrobe may not suit a smaller house or unit. Measure your new rooms and choose what goes. Anything you're not sure about can wait in our own storage facility.

Heavy old pieces need a plan. Older homes may have solid timber dressers, pianos or heavy wardrobes. We take them apart where we can, then wrap and strap them for the drive.

Two homes, one day. Door to door moving in Arawata means we load at your old place and carry everything into the right rooms at the new one. Label boxes by room and the unload goes much faster.

Short moves count too. A local move within Arawata, or to a neighbouring district like Kardella or Fairbank, is quoted and handled just like a bigger job.

Same-Day, Last-Minute and Weekend Moves in Arawata

Yes, we take urgent and weekend bookings when we can. We work seven days a week.

Common Problems We See During Arawata Moves

Most problems on Arawata moves come from the hills: steep ground, wet grass and winding roads. Here's what to watch for.

Steep driveways. A sloping drive makes carrying heavy items harder and slower. Tell us how steep your driveway is and where the truck can safely stop. We'll bring the right truck and plan the carry.

Slippery grass after rain. Wet slopes are hard to walk on with a fridge or a wardrobe. If there's a paved or gravel path, we'll use it. Mow and clear the way to the door a few days before.

Hard-to-find properties. Rural road numbers can be far apart, and some homes sit well back from the road. Send us your full address and a simple direction, such as "past the hall on Fairbank Road".

Too much furniture for the new home. Moving from a farmhouse to a town house often means more furniture than space. Sort it out before moving day, not on the footpath at the new place.

Old pieces that won't come apart. Some old furniture has fixed parts or was put together inside the room. Show us photos when you ask for a quote so we know what to expect.

Patchy phone reception. If your mobile signal drops out at home, give us a second contact number for moving day.

How Do We Work Out Your Moving Cost Estimate?

We price your move from the details you send us. For house moves, we can usually give you a written quote within about an hour, with no home visit needed.

For an accurate moving cost estimate in Arawata, send us:

• A list of rooms and large furniture
• Photos of heavy or unusual items, like a piano or an old dresser
• A short note about your driveway, slope and where the truck can park
• Both addresses and your preferred date

People asking about removalist prices in Arawata often want a rough number first. A written quote is more useful, because it's based on your actual home and access. Nothing is added later for fuel or for choosing a weekend date.
